Zeally Bay Sourdough is a wholefood bakery based in Torquay turning out a range of certified organic sourdough breads. We are the first artisan sourdough bakery in Victoria to offer a fully certified range of genuine, quality, handcrafted loaves.

Our sourdoughs are made in the traditional time honoured way and do not contain any added malts, gluten, commercial yeast or mould inhibitors.

Made slowly using a unique blend of organic flours, filtered water, the 30 year old family leaven and natural sea salt, our delicious crusty robust breads have a complex aroma, a well baked appearance and a chewy satisfying texture.

BAGUETTE- Crusty French classic with a caramelized crust and moist crumb. Can be cut / broken into small crusty portions for great accompaniment to a meal or pre-dinner antipasti 

SOUTHERN CASALINGA: Our best selling loaf, the Casalinga, is a great general purpose, rustic style loaf.  Baked on the stone hearth it has a light, moist crumb and a tasty caramelised crust.  Great for sandwiches or toast.

CIABATTA: It takes years of fermentation experience and skill to create a light open rustic Ciabatta such as this without resorting to bakers yeast. Virgin olive oil and the slow leavening produce a more flavoursome Ciabatta. The low flat profile of this loaf allows it to reheat very quickly to serve warm at the table. Best sliced horizontally and filled for fantastic  ‘continental’ style sandwiches

HIGH TOP: Baked in the tin in two pieces (which can be pulled apart) this is a loaf which can be used in many different ways. Very toaster friendly and sandwich-suitable due to its soft moist interior and light tasty crust.  

LIGHT WHOLEMEAL: The middle ground – a nice balance of whole wheat and white flour in a tin form.  The wholemeal flour adds both earthy, bran powered flavour and fibre. Makes wholesome sandwiches but also toasts magnificently.

SEED & SPROUT: A unique loaf with some very special ingredients. Our bakers sprout organic wheat seeds which are sweet and moist. Sprouted grains are a nutrition powerhouse. The organic Golden Linseed (straight from the farmer) is lightly rolled to crack it open enhancing its digestibility. Roasted sunflower seeds, buckwheat kernels and wholemeal flour complete the flavour and nourishment profile.  Coated in linseed and sesame seeds it is excellent as breakfast bread toasting beautifully but also makes wonderful healthy sandwiches.

STONEGROUND WHOLEGRAIN: The beautiful stoneground wheat and rye flours create a more robust flavoured bread with a moist crumb which is also a healthier option – the crust is especially delicious.

FRUIT LOAF: A fruit laden tin-form sourdough loaf with premium certified organic dried fruits and pulped oranges.  Superb toasted and great with soft cheese or quality preserves. Available as an economical cater sized loaf for cafes offering higher yield

OLIVE & ROSEMARY: A folded open-form rustic loaf with a unique and innovative combination of flavours.  Packed with great tasting, plump olives worthy of respect and sourced organic from Mt Zero.

SPELT, BUCKWHEAT & POLENTA: An earthy combination of freshly milled Spelt flour from Powlett Hill Farm with buckwheat flour and polenta. This is a rustic style bread with nutty flavours and a malty finish. Every Spelt loaf is a twin separated at birth

VOLLKORN: A traditional Schwarzbrot for a German army to march on.  Rich and cakey and ultra nourishing. Has a small but ultra-cult following Best sliced very thin and topped with cheese, smked fish or fresh salad.

GF* Millet & Linseed: Free from dairy, baker’s yeast, potato starch, xanthan & guar gums, preservatives, sugar and egg. GF* = This loaf is made from 100% non-gluten ingredients and is made separately to other breads. However, it may contain traces of gluten and is NOT suitable for people with medical hyper-sensitivity to GLUTEN (not for coeliacs).
