Hello! I’m Sarah, the owner and founder of My Home Pantry.
I’m a naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist who lives in Geelong with my husband and two kids. For 15 years I worked in the health food industry and as a consultant to both pharmacies and individuals. During that time I observed many misleading and contradictory “health” messages and was concerned at the amount of confusion people felt about the food industry. I became passionate about empowering people to look for healthy, wholesome, nutritious products rather than following fad diets.
That’s when My Home Pantry was born!
I have created a place where you can buy all of your basic pantry staples with confidence, knowing they are free of the harmful or misleading ingredients that can often be hidden in so-called “natural health foods”.
My Home Pantry is a place of integrity, ethics and wellbeing. I have strict criteria for the products I stock based on quality of ingredients and place of origin, as well as the nutritional profile. I question the assertions made by food producers, and I look for real food and real ingredients as opposed to numbers, thickeners and synthetic products. The products I stock will vary according to seasonal crops, cost and market availability. Where ingredients are imported I look for Australian packaged products first.
I love food and I’m a passionate (some might say “creative”!) home cook. I spent my teen years in Shanghai, and developed not only a love of cooking but also an understanding of the importance of family traditions around food.
