Unlike its white wine counterpart, which is derived from white wine, red wine vinegar is produced through the fermentation of red wine followed by a second fermentation that creates acetic acid. This process results in a uniquely bold and intricate flavour, making it stand out from white wine vinegar.

This vinegar is free of added sulphur/sulphites, although naturally occurring sulphites may be present.
